IP Avenger
The IP Avenger is a complete ethernet
subsystem with an 8-bit high performance MCU and a 10/100 Mbit ethernet controller
all mounted on the same module.
The module size is the same form factor (34.5 x 54mm) as all our other
small modules, which makes it very easy to work with. 2.54 mm pin
spacing also makes it easy to quickly prototype your design.
An on board 3.3 volt regulator and 5 volt tolerant I/O's also makes the
module easy to use. All passive components for the ethernet connection
is on board so the user only has to supply the magnetics an RJ45
connector and any application specific circutry needed.
A block diagram reveals the major
components of the module and how they interconnect.

Technical Data:
The microcontrollers on the IP Avenger/IP
Avenger II modules are modern high performing version of the trusted old 8051. The
Silabs C8051F021/23 is capable of performing the major part of its
instructions in only 1 clock cycle. Add to this that the IP Avenger is
capable of clocking the MCU with 20MHz you will quicky realize that it
will do its data crunching extremly quickly. In addition to the high
performance the chip is deviced with a number of powerful peripherals.

The development environment is of the latest technology with a JTAG
interface that connects to a PC and allows you to do high level debug
right on the board. The development kits comes with the required
hardware to do this.
The on board ethernet controller is one that was tailored to work in
embedded applications. With its 8-bit interface structure, its high
speed bus interface and the on board 16Kbyte of SRAM it gives you
unprecidented performance for its price.
Development kits:
The Development kit (DK1) contains one IP Avanger
module, one Silabs EC2 JTAG Serial or USB debug interface, One JTAG connector
cable and two IP Avenger evaluation Board. Also in the kit
you will find a CD ROM containing the Silabs IDE/Debuger, the SDCC
C-compiler and one example project with a sample webserver with system
diagnostics.
The image shows the content of the
kit. The evaluation board can be powered by either the on board USB
connector or a separate 9V DC battery eliminator. All IP Avenger
signals are available on easy to connect to headers. There is also a
two row 40 pin connector tha allows you to add on your own extensions
or evaluation modules.
Customizing your IP Avenger
As not all applications are alike, we
offer the possibility to ship your IP Avengers customized to fit your
particular application. We are ready to discuss different types of
connectors or preinstalled jumpers etc. Call us for more information.
